According to the Sierra manual, the max load listed is 43 grains for a 60 grain (3700.) 41.1 for a 75 (3500) and the 34.6 for a 90 (3000) and 34.2 for a 100 grain (2900.) These sound like low charges, but be aware that a 243 has a much different burn rate than a 308 even though it is the same case. these are MAX loads, make sure you start much lower than that and use a chrony. I hope that helps.

Varget really is not a good powder choice for 87 gr. and heavier bullets, I would look for something much slower in burn rate.

In the 58 gr. to 75 gr. you may find it works great. [IMG]

In a temp insensitive powder, H4831sc, if the ultimate in velocity is what drives your decision, RL-22.

Marlow243, Was just on Hodgdon.com, Mike Daly from same company is using a max load of H4350 with a 95gr Nosler getting appr. 3085fps in his 243, H4350 is the top powder to use in the 243 for heavier bullets, and he's using H4895 for the 55 BT for velocities of 4050fps, I'd check that site out, good info. Marlow,

42.0 grns Varget is the Nosler most accurate load for their 70 grn ballistic tip. thats about 1.5 above Hod. max but works well in my rifle and have read that it's a favorite everywhere. For the 95 grn BT my rifle loves the 41.5 load of IMR4350. Sorry to be so late for an post but I've just been working with my .243. The .243 uses slower powders than my 30-06. Mine likes all the 4350's, RL-19, and even H1000, 4831, and WMR with the 100 & 105 grn bullet. BM

PS: I have quite a few slow powders for my 7WSM
