Im curious to know what other peoples luck has been using heavier bullets with varget in the creedmoor. A guy i know with a 6.5x47 lapua has great luck with 147 eld-m shooting with varget. His velocities are near what he was getting H4350. He has no pressure signs showing so i am wondering what others may have tried. Im currently getting around 1/4" - 3/8" 5 shot groups at 100yards with lapua brass (w/sm rifle primer pocket), 142 SMK 20 thou off the lands, cci 450 small rifle magnum primers, 39.5gr H4350 with velocities around 2650fps & 40.5 gr H4350with velocities around 2720fps. Any info helps. Thank You!

Haven't used Varget with 140s from my 6.5 Creedmoor yet, but it works great with 130s, giving me 2900 FPS and sub .6 MOA 10-shot groups.

H4350 is better suited for 140s. Varget better for 120s. I used RL26 with 147s. It was very easy to tune and gave great velocity.

While Varget generates comparable velocity(2750FPS) to H4350 in the small case/higher pressure 6.5x47, it will not produce comparable velocity in the Creedmoor case with the 140gr bullets. I have been able to achieve 2720FPS with H4831sc, in the higher capacity Hornady cases. It's a near-compressed load, but very accurate with 142 SMK's.
