My trigger broke and I am in need of a new one. I have a Jewell on a Remington and love it! Is there any aftermarket trigger for a savage that matches a Jewell? If not what is the best out there? Timney, SSS, or Rifle Basix? I am wanting on that will adjust to around 1lb safely that will take a bit of abuse(weather and dirt).

Thanks, Mike

I have all those triggers you mention. I don't recommend a Jewell or any other trigger to be adjusted to 1 lb. for hunting. Two lbs. would be as low as I would go, and then only if it passes several slam fire tests.

The 110 is an older model. I cannot tell you what will work on that rifle, but I would call Fred Moreo at SSS. He is a good smith and knows Savage very well. His own Savage trigger is a good one; I have one on a 6.5-284 he built.

I have two of the older model 110's, both wear the Rifle Basix trigger. I don't mind them at all, I've fired many, many rounds from them & don't feel I'm lacking anything w/o a Jewel.

I do hear the SSS is a great trigger, but I've never used one.

Anyone else? I just want the best trigger that is made for savage. And no it will not be set a one pound but 1.5lbs. I know that there are a lot of people that disagree with that light of a trigger but it is what I like.

Imo, the best trigger for a flat rear stagger feed savage is a Rifle Basix Sav2, it is easy to install and has adjustments that can be tweaked from around 4oz up to about 3#s with a couple extra springs.

I couldn't be happier with the stock trigger on MY 110. I adjusted it up, to where it felt just right, when I got the rifle. It has stayed right there, ever since (at least 15 years). I do run 4# on pull though.
