Just ordered a Remington 700 XCR II in 300 RUM. According to Remington the rifle weighs in @ 7.367 lbs, has the composite stock and 26" tube. Here is a list of parts ordered for the rifle:
McMillan Hunters Edge Stock in black, was in stock @ stockys, weighs 22oz
Fluted 2 piece bolt from Pacific Tool, 6-8 weeks out
Aluminum bottom metal from Pacific, in stock
Fluted firing pin/aluminum shroud assembly from Pacific, in stock
Skeletonized bolt handle from Pacific, in stock
Talley aluminum 30mm low rings 2.5oz
Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP milrad scope 19oz
Plan on fluting the barrell, and accurzing the action after my elk hunt this fall.

Is there anything else anyone can think of for making the rifle lighter or more accurate parts wise? Will be glass bedding the action into the stock as well.
