Base layers that aren't made out of merino wool. Although there seems to be a shift in support for good wool clothing in recent years
ShoNuffLab Radar. How quickly they are getting tossed for a Garmin is amazing.
They're simultaneously one of the best and one of the worst things that have hit the market. If you're having problems they're a great tool to help diagnose the issue. They're also handy for gunsmiths who want to visually check their work since they typically can't do real precision testing before sending it back to the customer. If your gun's shooting well they're just a way to find "problems" that don't really exist.I'll second borescopes. Mostly all the BS that's preached about breaking in barrels and making people think they need to go to confession if they don't purify their riflebore every 37 rds or whatever they're into.
Been there, Done that. I couldn't agree more. Seems like we all have to experience to be true believes.Something already mentioned, but scent sprays and other products.
Admittedly I used them for awhile. One day elk hunting, we saw a group of deer on the trail. Wind was in our face we got within 50 yds with the wind still in our favor and they saw us approaching but didn't seem to care. The wind swirled and all of sudden blowing from us toward them and just like quick they looked up and were gone.
I always knew to play the wind, but the reality that this scent stuff was a bit of a gimmick hit me. When I hike the better part of the day, I sweat, and am sure I stink to high heaven as far as the critters are concerned.
Since then I simply wash hunting clothes in unscented natural detergent, hang dry. So I don't smell like tide. I also use unscented all natural soap and deodorant. Toms is a brand that I find at the grocery store, so nothing special.
Using the wind is far more important.
6.5CM overhyped? Yes, and nowadays mostly by those claiming it's overhyped. Useless, no.Did I miss it? No one said Needmoor?
Personally over the decades, I have found quite a few items that were hyped and found rather useless or gave little to no improvement as advertized.
