Should we start to boycot these high prices?

You can see what the voting got the last time. Something really needs to be done at education level to start with. Get back to real history not some 1619 Bull****. No country is perfect, but there isn't a better system of government in the world than ours. I do believe that a lot of schools are teaching the kids, "The Shy Is Falling" I came across this several months ago. I kind of feel it's about right on. "Those that can do: Do it! Those that can't: Teach!" So what's being taught in schools. Socialism, and Communalism. They are teaching if you are black, you can't make it. "That Bull**** Too" They use to teach us that if you didn't get a college degree, you weren't going to make it. I came out of H.S. with about a straight "D" average. I didn't go to college, and I knew I was going to be drafted into the Army in a short time. So I couldn't quite do much about anything until that was out of my way, and I would live or die. I did and the rest is history. I passed up most people that I went to school with, and no education either. So it's the drive inside of you and what you want out of life. No the teachers are telling the kids they can't get ahead, and the rich are going to let you move foreword. Some of the big industrialist in the 1800's and going foreword never finish grade school. Became the richest men in the world.
So I feel that we need to start and take back our schools, and be aware of what's being taught in school. or we can become a Socialism or Communalism country. You seen how that has come out.

I don't think a boycott would do anything, there is just too much pent-up demand. After two years of almost nothing on the shelves and more guns being sold every day, people need the product.

Manufacturers have learned that with increased prices they can make more money and produce less.

I've been boycotting the crazy prices the last 2 years. That is when your boycott should have started. Some of the items will never return to prices we had 5 or 10 years ago due to inflation but I'm not restock my supplies unless I find reasonable prices. I don't think many of the quality companies that provide ammunition and reloading supplies have been trying to take advantage of us during this whole mess. Many of these companies have increased there prices due to inflation. Their cost of supplies, shipping and labor has increased substantially during this whole pandemic.
There are some stores and companies that have been taking advantage of the situation and have damaged their reputation with consumers. I did see some R16 behind the counter last week. When I saw the price of $79.99 for one pound, I told them "no thank you". Last fall, in a different store I multiple large boxes of Winchester small rifle primes on the shelf. They had at least a couple hundred thousand primers. However, the price was something ridiculous, like $0.15/primer. Those are the type of prices we all need to boycott. Until everyone stops paying these crazy prices, we won't see regular supplies at reasonable prices.

In most cases it's supply and demand only driving up the prices; at least with powder and primers. Ironically, boycotting the companies making them would solve the supply issue. There's millions of new shooters and reloaders, just a couple boxes of ammo and primers each and you have a huge increased demand.

I'm usually behind the curve on stuff like this, but after Obama's re-election saw it coming, and was Powder Valley's best customer for 2016-17, and already had brass and bullets.

Maybe living in the unconstitutional People's Republik here in California gave me a sneak peek into future restrictions, but that was also before the influx of new gun owners. I know Hodgdon and Federal and Winchester are going 24/7 to meet demand. Anyway, I'm good on everything through 2050 at least.
I was born and raised in S. Cal. or now I call Mexico-North. I am leaving for another state. This state has it's head up it's A**.

"Never let a good crisis go to waste". I am sure many of you heard this before. During any major crisis, there are businesses that just try to serve the sustomer base, some who take advantage, and some who have no choice but to stay afloat need to pass on high costs. We all have a choice, and I am not the one to suggest what others should do.
Personally, I decided that shooting as a sport under these conditions is not in my family budget. I have enough to cover any of my future hunts and sight-ins before a hunt. I will not be buying anything, nor have I been looking to buy anything. I let the people who "have to have it" get it. Paying 50/60 cents a round for 223 or $5/round for magnums is not in my budget.

I think happy hour might come earlier today.
OK, that did it! I've been meaning to finish the bottle anyway.

I'm am wondering if I (we) should start to boycot these companies that are bending us over, charging these extortionate prices on reloading supplies. This high price greed is not ok. They are praying on the pandemic pricing craze. There is no way that their raw materials have gone up that much to warrant these high prices. Maybe we need to just say "enough of this crap. Stuff your prices!"
I absolutely agree ... if you are correct. There is no doubt that greedy companies/industries are cashing-in and falsely blaming the pandemic, and they SHOULD be held responsible. It's also pretty obvious that there are real supply chain issues and material shortages. The trick is sorting out the legitimate price increases from the exploitative ones.

I have seen those items, and didn't buy either. They sold out. ($0.15 each @ Scheels) for primers in MT. SportsmensW. before that in Mexico-North they were less than $0.05 each for primers including sales tax. The tax added about $0.035 each. The only reason I got them was I want to test them with a rifle I am having built. I don't think they will do better, but got to see.

For years, I made it a point to always buy primers and powders I used. Call it whatever you want but I'm not crying about getting ripped off by the "sellers" now. Will the prices come back to the "normal" we enjoyed before this pandemic and the ensuing hysteria was born. I doubt it will return to the "pre-hysteria" level. Much like fuel costs, every time the gas prices skyrocketed, they never completely returned to the previous levels. Get used to it, every time there's a "panic" real or manufactured, we will continue to get it from the unscrupulous. A lot of the problems are the folks "running" this country. There aren't many true patriots in office. We still allow elected officials to take their salaries and do nothing but campaign for the next election. Then after they leave office, they're all magically multi-millionaires. The founding fathers originally envisioned a part-time Congress, now it's a career. Remember the folks running the country are the same lawyers who write laws that only a law professor can fathom, the tax code is a perfect example of just how screwed up we, as a nation, have become. Remember this next election.

I was in a shop late last year and saw some H-4350 on the shelf.I picked the one pound container up but noticed $99.95 sticker on top. I asked the owner if it was a misprint and he said no. I returned the container carefully to the shelf. I will not pay these prices and will wait until the gouging subsides. I have enough stockpiled to hold out for about two years, but will need some bullets at that time. I will not pay a dollar a bullet as is the price right now.

Until we as a block of voters decide to make our politicians resale all surplus ammo and weapons to the public and quit destroying them there will be a huge demand for ammo and components. Tell me why the alphabet agencies buy billions of rounds and then destroy billions of rounds if not to control the 2nd amendment through our tax dollars. So if your not writing your Congressmen you don't have the standing to do anything but endure like the sheep you are... Happy shooting.

All I can say is that there must be a lot of people that have more money than brains to pay such outlandish prices for items that they think they need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the original statement about a Boycott, why? We live in a capitalist system which is far better than some socialist government run system where everything is controlled. Hell, this isn't everyones first rodeo, its a cycle that occurs everytime a democrat become president. Buy on the dip and and always buy enough to carry you through the tuff times. Just my 2cents.
