Shot Distance For Bighorns

Bighorns have started to become an obsession for me and for those of you who have killed them in the lower 48, how far were your shots? I've heard from 50-300 is average but that was a small pool of hunters.
I've taken a Rocky (162 pt) in Colorado at 270 yds uphill in a avalanche chute, probably 60+° angle. I used a 150 gr Hornady spire point in my 270 Weatherby mag. He sat down and finally decided to die and rolled at least half way down to me. I've also taken a Rocky in Arizona (181 pts) at 340 yds with a 140 gr Failsafe (now discontinued by Winchester). used my 270 Roy again. He was DRT. So it looks like right in your average. JM

So...kind of reads like it's a bino show....as close as you need to get to allow your field judgement to persuade you to take the animal....
I wouldn't set myself up for a bad shot at any distance...
And most of these guys are shooting fairly accurate rounds...
Be your own best/worst advocate.....if it doesn't feel good...dont shoot....
