Short Barrel (20”) 300WSM Question

Great news.

I've been bugging peterson alpha and adg for wsm brass for 3 years to no avail. Shot show Jan 2018 Peterson had 300wsm brass samples at their booth, was elated. But never made it to production for some reason.

22" 300wsm, rl26 goes 2920 w/ 215s. Rl23 goes 2850, rl23 is slightly more accurate and more temp stable. Cannot wait for adg brass to come in, should be good for another 60fps with rl23. Chamber has 200k freebore and loaded length is over 3.1 in a Tikka long action.

I love the effortless accuracy I've seem from the wsms, and with ADG FINALLY making 300 wsm brass it'll be tough to beat.

The rl23 load was what I settled on, it was warm, no ejector marks but the web was growing a lot and dies weren't keeping it in check, giving me clickers after 3-4 firings. Hopefully the adg brass and new bullet central small base FL bushing dies remedy this.

Got a 20 inch 300 WSM for Elk hunting. I am running 180 Berger Elite at 2900 fps with H 4350...

Yes. It's the 300 WSM and on the bench not fluted is a 6.5 PRC CF barrel and I also have a 27 inch stainless 300PRC

That particular brake is a Heathen by Insite. Horizon Firearms also owns Iota Outdoors who built the OP's stock he posted above that he bought from Stocky's. They also make the rings pictured above on my rifle.

Can you pm .e with your loads? Just wondering powder charge you use-- I get 100fpsxless from my 24" barrel and I'm just wondering if I jave a slow barrel

They have their testing done, production scheduled for 2nd q this year. 300wsm only. Case capacity is 1gr more than norma,but undoubtedly more robust case head and web area.

They told me they are ready to run a batch (no idea how many) BUT they are so swamped with all their other brass right now that all they would tell me was "some time this year "

I do not know honestly. I have a line to get my hands on 300 pieces, so I'm not too concerned. Those will burn a barrel pretty easily I'd think.
