Savage 30-06 to .338 RUM?

Have a 110 in 30-06. Looking to strip it and rebarrel for something a little more fun. I know they make the replacement bolt faces to turn this into an Ultra Mag, but are there any action strength concerns out there that I ought to know about?

Strength concerns, no. Mag length concerns, maybe.

It will be easiest to run it as a single shot. New barrel and bolthead is all you need to get going.
