I recently purchased a sendero II in 300 rum, and it doesn't want shoot at all!
I have tried three different Remington factory loads and the best group I can get at 100yrds is 3 or so inches. The rifle is less than a year old, and only had about 25 round down the pipe. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I guess I'm wondering how other senderos shoot from the factory also.

    Thank you,
    Jerry

I have a Sendero sfII 300rum that will shoot 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards. But that is with reloaded ammo. Its never had a factory round in it.

You should definitely be getting better performance than that. Is it braked? If not, maybe the recoil is getting to you? Are you able to shoot other rifles more accurate than that? The only other suggestion I would have is to bed the recoil lug and start reloading your own ammo. With a 300 RUM, you are crazy not to reload anyway.

What scope and how is it mounted?

No the rifle does not have a brake, going to have GA precision install one soon.
I have a savage 308 with a brake that I can shoot ragged holes with all day long.
The rifle came with about three boxes of premium Remington amo with different power levels and bullet weights that I'm not impressed with. Does anybody have suggestions on loading data to start with?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

It has leupold rings and base, and a inexpensive Nikon scope.
Waiting on 20 moa rail, and then going to put my bushy 6500 elite on it.

I'd get the 6500 mounted, then feed it some 200 grain Accubonds over RL-25 or Retumbo. mtmuley

Yep, that or 215 Berger Hybrids, or possibly the new 210 Accubond LR. I would think it could be a scope problem or simply the difference in recoil. The recoil of a 300RUM is a little more signifcant than a braked 308...

Thank you for all the comments! Its awesome to have this web site, and forum as a resource. I'm going to bed the stock hopefully by the weekend with dev-con. Maybe that will help, along with some load development. As far as the recoil issue, I've had several big bore rifles and shot them all better than this one. The recoil was definitely getting to me at the end of the range session, I have a nice bruise now to show off!!:D

    Thanks again,

    Jerry

As far as a load, (obviously work up to this) but 92.5gr retumbo with a Berger 210 at 3.600 is what works best for me. It is pushing the 210 at 3000 fps.

Also a 168 Amax with 100grs of retumbo if you want a lighter bullet. It is screaming fast, I have shot a couple deer with it. Just make sure you shoot them where you don't want to eat them eat it is devastating. Here's a picture of a deer I shot at 661 yards with the 210.

Bet you didn't have to track that deer very far! That load would be awesome for song dogs. I have a new question, just bed the recoil lug?
Or should I bed the the whole thing?

    Thanks
    Jerry
