rechamber

It all depends upon what action the 300wby is on. The is a strong contingent of those who will not chamber a 416 Rigby/378wby cartridge on a action the size of a Rem 700. As for the barrel itself, as long as the contour of the barrel will allow it, there shouldn't be any problem in rechambering the barrel to the larger case.

anyone know if it is possible to rechamber a 300 wby to a 30-378 ?

As far as the chamber, it will work!

If the rifle is a Weather MK5 it will be easy, and opening the bolt face is also very easy
and all of the parts that will make it work really good ( extractor, center feed mag box,and
flat bullet follower) are easy and inexpensive to get from Weatherby.

If the action is a Remington or winchester it is not recommended to open the bolt face that
much because the extractor claw is very fragile/thin. There is nothing wrong with the strength
of the actions just the size limits the bolt face diameter.
