Most of the time i just hope the laser is ranging off the coyote, or very close to it at those ranges. Obviously if the dog is on a side hill then it'll be accurate. If it's flatter country than u may be reflecting off something either side of him...but it seems to work most of the time for me.
R u also talking about rangefinding with a scope reticle??
I also have the Leica 1200 crf and have had only great results. I have had no problems with mine in the snow...just had it out yesterday when we were whacking yotes and I ranged coyotes out to 600 yards (the farthest away we saw one) and ranged hillsides out to 1300 yards, all in the snow. I have never noticed the button being stiff, guess all those finger pull-ups I've been doing is finally paying off!
I am talking ranging while it is snowing heavy. It will not work.... Guaranteed !!
