R8 Blaser .30-06 re-chamber to .30-06 AI

I am asking for a friend, can it be re-chambered without setting back the barrel. If the barrel needs to be set back, is that a problem. I know they are expensive but that is NOT the issue. A simple question, is it doable or not?

Barrel set-back on any switch barrel rifle is a problem.
