My Son wanted me to load some 204 Ruger for him, & not sure about the primers he provided? He bought 6 1/2 Rem. primers but none of my manuals list them ? Most my manuals say Rem 7 1/2, CCI 400, or Fed205m? The CCI 400 is in the same class as the Rem. 6 1/2, so was not sure if it is safe to use them or not? Anyone have any ideas or experience loading Ruger 204?

They will work the 7 1/2 is a benchrest version small rifle primer the 6 1/2 is standard small rifle primer

Here is a link and an exert that suggests that you shouldn't use Rem 6 1/2 instead of rem 7 1/2

Remington 6 ½ - thin .020" cup, intended for older, lower pressure rounds Remington says do not use for the .223 Rem or other similar pressure rounds. Good for .22 Hornet, .30 Carbine.
Remington 7 ½ BR - A match or "bench rest" primer. Lyman & Nosler classify this primer as a Standard. Remington says the compound is the same as the 6 1/2 but with a thicker .025" cup.

6 1/2 are for lower pressure rounds like 22 Hornet. Not recommended for high pressure stuff. Use fed 205, cci 400, rem 7 1/2 etc
