Opening a bolt face, good idea/bad idea

That never crossed my mind.
Oh well. A new bolt is $165, stripped. I can use the internals from my current bolt but would need to have a new one refit.

Then you still have the old bolt, can be reused if you want to go back to that boltface, or sell for something if you don't want to inventory too much. Tell us if you make some changes how it works out.
