Nosler vs Hornady brass

I know Hornady is thin-walled brass, and Nosler is thicker. 57.1 rs of N170 out of Nosler brass 147gr ELDM produces avg velocity of 2970 with stiff bolt lift. 57.3 grs of N170 147gr ELDM Hornady brass AVG Velocity of 3,070 and cases extracted with zero resistance. Why?

Higher pressure with thicker brass. Did you check capacity?

Yes, Nosler holds less. So higher pressure, but lower velocity?

Ok. I would suspect the brass is softer at the web. Did the primers look about the same? Measure the web?

Nosler being thicker and softer will expand more and easier with less spring back making for stiff bolt.

let your brass tell you what it wants not the other way around. some brass just won't hold pressure and produce the velocities of others.
i have done pretty good with the newer hornady brass as long as you let it tell you what it wants.
