I have read a couple times where people had stated they didn't care for the 56mm in the NXS line. Can anyone say why?

Usually because they sit to high off the rifle without much gain in optical performance.

We have one of each, 56 on a 300 win and a 50 on the .338 Lapua, both with 40 moa bases and #8 contour barrels. Yes, the 56 took a 1.125" set of rings and the 50 took 1" Other than that we haven't owned the 56 long enough to see the advantages if any. But it does look good..:D

I am scope shopping at the moment and I personally don't like the 50mm or the 56mm, I am looking for a 40mm or no bigger than a 42mm.

I'm just researching now. I have a gun being built that I wanted to put the
NXS 8-32X56MM NP-R1 on. Height isn't an issue for me. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something optical. Thanks for the replies!
