New proposed ATF powder registry

Order via EMail. I've not seen this done in the state over the counter.
Good luck in Mexico North (cal) Anything you order out that's coming into Cal is flag. If you use an address that's Cal to purchase powder and possible primers even if being sent to another state, most of the time they won't sent it direct.
I ran into this several years ago. I was being told no from a supplier. Even with that address to another state. My crebit card address was cal. So I went to another card I have and that worked just fine. Well I have moved my business and banking address to another state.
I now have everything shipped to Montana. Even if I am in Mexico-North part of the time. You don't see any looting in Montana, but in cal you sure do. We can carry in Montana. Not in Cal. Cal wants to add more gun laws. Montana they got ridd of a lot of them. Only the state can pass gun laws now. A few cities are still trying to do that. but generally stopped in Montana. A great many years ago I went into a sporting goods store to get some powder. This was back in the 90's. They wanted my address, thumb print. That was the last time I got anything in this state of Mexico-North.

Where are you buying powder they don't record DL? Every single powder purchase for me in CA in 20 years has been analog recorded.
Come to Alabama, Elected official here tried that, they wouldn't make it through the next election. You can walk into any Wal-Mart, or gun store and buy ammo and loading components. Pay with cash or charge. No questions asked.

I've told my son that lives in Texas that I believe a divorce is in the future for this country. We keep Florida and the gulf coast for ports, and the middle of the country. They get the east and west coast. They can call themselves the Socialist states of America. We'll keep the Republic.

Hold it right there partner 😉…..don't give them anything, except a one-way ticket to hell! Then America will have those ports also! memtb

I'm not a lawyer or an expert but I think the earlier comments that this proposed rule may not be applicable to small arms and their components, may be on target. I went to the comments link provided earlier in the thread and did some reading. The ATF lists the number of affected by the proposed rule at under 10,000, which suggests it only applies to licensed explosive dealers/ organizations. 27 CFR 555.141 a) General exceptions lists 4) small arms and their components. Elsewhere in the CFRs it lists less than 50 lbs of blackpower, caps, etc. as an exception as well.
The whole intent of the proposed rule appears to be to change from the current initial reporting requirement to an annual reporting requirement. As a recreational shooter, I am not aware of any current requirement for me to have informed anyone of the materials I have onsite.
I think the whole issue is probably be mute. If it affected the general shooting population, I think we would have seen some coverage by now from Bearing Arms, the Second Amendment Foundation, etc.

Hey is anybody heard that the ATF is trying to make a powder registry that you have to register any explosive powders with your local fire department in case of a fire everybody needs to find this information and they're doing a comment. Right now about it so they're going to know how much powder you have what kind of powder and you have to fill out a form yearly
My smokeless powder containers have warnings all over them saying "Warning: Extremely Flammable". Whereas my black powder containers do say explosive so beings that the industry classifies their products this way, I'm sure, to satisfy some government labeling requirement, couldn't I just assume that this hullabaloo only pertains to the black powder and or firecrackers?? Or is this a dangerous assumption.

You are limited on the amount of primers to have on hand. If it's in car you are okay. Don't ask me why. It's bullsh*t.
Something else, and I hadn't give it much thought about. Your gun safes aren't save. There is a master code to unlock them. The Fed's have those codes.
The other is by sending in a warranty card probable help's the Fed's to know how and where those safes are located at.
Something to think about!

I don't know about other brands, but Liberty Safe just recently gave the code to a man's safe, no search warrant provided to Liberty …..they freely gave him up! 🤬 memtb
