Need Help! Which Caliber?

Just bought a 1988 Weatherby Mark V, from cabela's and I thought it was a .300 Weatherby Magnum and not a .300 Win Mag. I am pretty sure it is a .300 Weatherby Magnum, but not 100% sure. Please tell me what caliber it is. Thank you!

That is quite confusing. It should've the win mag but I'm not certain without looking at the two I've got . I'll check mine when I'm home tomorrow.

it says use only 300wm weatherby ammo and I dont think they ever made 300 win mag ammo

Ok, thanks. It is a left handed model that was made in 1988 and it looks like from reading my blue book of gun values, that Weatherby only made the Mark V Deluxe Left Hand in .270 Wby Mag and .300 Wby. Mag thru 1997. I am 95% sure that it is a .300 Weatherby Magnum, but I will call Weatherby on Monday and give them the serial number. Thanks again!

I think it's 300 Weatherby, is my guess, call to confirm.

Both wood stocked German made 300 weatherbys that I have , have 300 magnum stamped on the barrel . The synthetic vanguard has 300 wby (weatherby mag) stamped on it . I'd say you ended up with a 300 win mag . I could be wrong and I'm sure a call to weatherby should verify for you . Let us know how this goes

It is a 300 weatherby mag....if it's a win mag it will not camber a weatherby---get a 300 WBY snap cap--
