Years ago, a buddy went to an Alice Cooper concert in which ZZ Top was the unknown "starter". He said when they first took the stage, they were booed on looks alone. By the time they were 30 seconds into LaGrange - the booing stopped and folks were kinda stunned. When they finished and Alice Cooper took the stage, they were booing him and wanting ZZ Top back LOL.

Lots of folks, me included, for some time never realized just how complex the music of Steely Dan was.

He said under appreciated lol. I have all those and an original street survivors before they pulled it.

I dont know about pure musicians but now when i listen to matalica and really lisen its how in the hell do they repeat that so much goin on!
Oh, Sorry about that. If we're talking about unappreciated/underrated it has to be The Kinks. Pete Townshend said of Dave Davies: "His guitar skills are Blistering." Plus Ray Davies was one of the best song writers ever, IMHO.

A true genius and poet when it came to writing music. But........who in the world told him he could sing??
How about David Bowie, this guy made great music ever since the 70's .

I just had to go to youtube and listen to Sylvia's Mother. I saw Dr. Hook in 1974.

Agree. When we were younger it was music to get you pumped up. Now, I like to listen to the music, offbeat drums and some great bass lines.
