Mounting Optics on a Steyr Pro Hunter

First off, Hi everybody!

I bought a new deer hunting rifle last week, along with new optics. Dealer didn't have a mount for the scope but told me they were easily available. Hmmm.

Now it seems there are Steyr mounts available, but they are a little more than I expected. My question is, are the Steyr mounts that good, or are there other options available? Thanks for the advice.

My rifle is a Steyr SBS Pro Hunter, .300 Win. Mag. caliber.

The optics are a Vortex Viper PST 6-24 x 50ffp EBR-1 (MRAD)

Buy this base, and you can put whatever rings and scope you want on it.

Picatinny rails are always the way to go for scope mounting options. It opens you up to any brand of picatinny style rings available.
