Most of the ones around here die of lead poisoning, or cardiovascular failure. We killed over 60 hogs here last year, and at harvest time, we saw plenty that would take their place. But you're right, they do work on the hog population. Foxes too. We got plenty of them here too.I wouldn't count on shooting to many whistle pigs if those yotes are getting much easier to find, when we started seeing them was when the pigs began to disappear hear in middle Tennessee
Same here in Western MD and eastern WV where I used to hunt them a lot. As soon as the coyotes showed up, groundhogs got scarce.I wouldn't count on shooting to many whistle pigs if those yotes are getting much easier to find, when we started seeing them was when the pigs began to disappear hear in middle Tennessee
You are absolutely correct. I remember going out and shooting 8 of them in an afternoon and now, I'm lucky to see 3 a year. That's why I celebrate when I get one!Same here in Western MD and eastern WV where I used to hunt them a lot. As soon as the coyotes showed up, groundhogs got scarce.
