Not figuring bolt face sizes, how many different action lengths are there? Model 7, 700 short and long? Is there a magnum length or is that just a long action?

Also, will a M700 handle 338 lapua?

Thanks

Justin

Short and long. And some will say it will and some will say it wont. You will need a new bolt or have your face opened up on your current bolt, but i would recommend buying a new one from Pacific tool and gauge. As long as you are a safe knowledgeable reloader it will work just fine, you try and push the limits of the 338 lapua and you will run into problems.

So to make sure i understand...if you have the right bolt face, a long action would handle a 30-06 or a 300 RUM?

Be sure to remember, the bolt face of a lapua is the big bolt face. Same as the 338-378. Also, if you plan to use the magazine, you will definately run into trouble with 338-378 and the edge (its .100 longer) and can run into trouble with the 338 rum and lapua.
