Leupold VX-3 scope question

Guys, got a chance to pick up a slightly used VX-3 in 8.5-25 LR with the 30mm tube and 50mm objective for a really good deal. How does this scope stand up to the other top in scopes? I shoot a max of 500 yds at Deer in the winter and Prairie dogs in the summer.

I have a VX3 LRT in fine duplex with high turrets that I use for 100 yard posisional benchrest and it's a nice scope particularly in the resolution department. The only drawback that I can find is the high turrets tend to be a bit clumsy for me, but thats just me. I've had it out Whitetail hunting and it's crystal clear and concise to well over 500 yards. Nice glass.

What reticle is the scope in?
