I have a Kimber Montana .325 WSM that I may customize into a .300 WSM. The problem is I cant find any info on Kimber actions. The .325 is too much recoil for me (160 lbs soaking wet) and the ammo is expensive (this is the only rifle which I do not load for because I dont like the caliber)

Question 2: Is the Kimber action worth building a custom rifle on?

assuming the kimbers are about as expensive as they are here $1100 new. That is a expensive donor action. Wouldn't you be money ahead if you sell it and buy a custom action like a stiller or pheonix. I paid $750 for my pheonix action with all the bells and whistles. I am sure you can build off of them but most don't because of the cost. Just my two cents not that it means much.

I owned a classic also and it kicked like a mule. They are made to be light mountain rifles.
