Hogs in west tn.

I suspect you speaking of donations of the meat? But if you got the Hogs, introducing others to hunting is always a good option. Especially for folks that just can't picture of them selves shooting a sweet little deer, hogs are pretty ugly and a lot less likely to have that stigma of poor little animal. Get them hooked and even the deer will be easier for them.
Careful about teaching someone to shoot only ugly things,I wouldn't last a day.

I'm confused about the deer correlation.

Texas is overrun with hogs and deer in the same locations, and while I understand they are eating many of the same foods, to say that hogs will knock deer populations down doesn't make much sense to me.
I hunt in south Texas. I think he is talking about areas overrun with hogs. If you have a property that has several sounders of mature hogs and large boars, you are likely to see fewer deer in that same area. Hogs and deer do not mix..... we have a few hogs come through once in a while so our deer population is healthy. But we are also killing as many hogs a possible when we see them.
