High BC Hunting Bullets

Hey Doc...
A little off topic but still Berger related.
I sent a email to Berger Tech support a week ago about load data for the 130 AR Match Hybrid for 6.5 Creedmoor.
They haven't got back to me, I'm wondering if I have a bad link, or you guys are just really busy.
Thanks

Varget, 4166, H4350, N550 should all work.

H4350 +/- 40 gr
N550 +/- 40 gr
4451 +/- 40 gr

Varget&4166 will be the exception here, but you should see a trend ;). Varget and 4166 are nearly identical, and load the same.

I don't know your reloading practice, or chamber so these are semi safe numbers. I tended to run more powder, but I was using fire formed brass and loading long.

Thanks, I am loading 4451 in particular...
Thank you very much!!

4451 seems to be a clone of H4350. The Enduron powders are Canadian versions of the classic H. Extremes. They load very similar, and have very similar temp sensitivity properties. I have had nothing but good luck with 4451 and 4166.

That's good news, I'm having a hard time locally finding enough H4350 to justify doing a work up with the 500 130 ARs I have.
I tried IMR 4350 and ES was huge with a pretty significant velocity change from 80 degrees to 50 degrees, so it's out.
The weird part is.... I have a 7 mag load with IMR 4350 and the ES and velocity hasn't change much in that temp swing..

Any guess as to when these will be available for purchase? My pet .308 load now is with the 185gr Juggernaut and have be really looking forward to developing a hunting load that will be really close to it.

and other places as well.

I picked up 200 .277 cal. 170 gr Elites for $35 per 100. It states on the box 1:8.3 twist.
I hope Berger will start making a 165 gr Classic hunter for the 270 since Matrix sold the company and took the 270 cal dies with him we cant get any .277 cal. bullets any more.

Hi everyone, I just received a box of the new 30 caliber 180 gr Elite Hunter bullets. The box states "Optimal twist rate 1:8"! The marketing ad stated 1:11.... I'm hoping to get decent results out of my 1:11.25" 308 winchester, & my 1:10" 300 Win Mag! Maybe I should have went with the Classic Hunters instead. I'll be loading & trying things out before too long. Hope to hear from others here with their results of these new bullets. Idaho-5R

I'm sure that 8x for any lead core 180 grain 30 cal bullet is way beyond what is optimum. I'm guessing that it is a mistake. 11.25 will handle any jacketed lead 180 grain bullet with ease. Tighter might be optimum for maximum BC but 11.25 is more than adequate for good performance.

Optimal is 1 in 11 that is an error. Can you please send me an image of the box with the wrong twist rate on it? To [email protected]

Any update on a hybrid like the .338 but in .375? I cannot get hold of .375 SMK s which have worked great for both ELR and hunting. I have boxes of .338 hybrids for those rifles.
