Help Identifying a Bench Rest

I am trying to identify this bench rest that belonged to a friend. It has no name on it, and it weighs about 40 lbs. It has a Protektor bag, but I have verified with them that this is not one of theirs. Again, no name or markings on it. Any help is appreciated.

Ask your friend where he got it.

Thanks. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago. I'm starting to think it was custom made, as he also handmade bamboo fishing rods and started making his own reels.
