Goto loads for 7mm REM Mag and 160 Accubonds

Hey guys just wanted to give you a update.. I decided to try a different powder. It's one a lot of people said they got really good accuracy but not great velocity. H4831. I wanted H1000 but local gun store didn't have it and I was impatient.. anyways. I shot this morning before it stormed and came across a group I thought was worth chasing. It has a ES of 11 and SD of 5.9. A low velocity of 2828..It shot into below(see picture) 3 shot group.

Then this afternoon after the rain and while my son napped I got to get back out and shoot again. I had a few other loads to test and then while it was raining I decided to reload 5 of the load I liked this morning. Anyways the other loads didn't look as good but not bad. I shot this 5 shot group this afternoon which would of been incredible minus the shot I pulled. The pulled shot was shot 2 of 5 and after that second shot I was like well *** I guess this mornings group was a fluke but I tried to stay focused and then the next 3 shots came in perfect!! And I shot the below group.

There is a big difference in max loads between the Nosler manual (61 grains) and the VV manual (68.1 grains). Why? Thanks

I just verified what you posted and I would follow the guidelines of the powder manufacturer, I trust them more.

Start lower though of course and work your way up.

Stay safe

I agree but seven grains is a huge difference.

This is from the Sierra Manual with a 160 TMK.

Starting point with N165 is 63.5gr as you can see

Starts to hit Max at 67.1

Based on this Nosler info is incorrect. I always look at several manuals before preparing a load just in case, though I am yet to see a powder manufacturer's reloading data to be bad.

Happy shooting and stay safe.

I'm using 73 gr ADI2217/H1000 with my 160 accubonds (3067 fps from 26" barrel). seems to work well. Longest shot so far is a red hind at 300 yds. DRT.

Stu

Same here!! 73gr H1000, 160AB, 215m, Nosler cases out of a 28in, 3096fps 200yrd .365"/5 shot.
