When you guys assemble your Model 700 firing pin assemblies, do you fit the retaining pin so it has to be pecked into the firing pin with a punch and hammer or do you make it so you can push it in with your finger?
I prefer to have a tight fitting pin that has to be taped out with a punch. so there is little or no movement of the cocking piece that could effect the sear.
Sometimes they are a pain to remove if they have been there for many years so I have a short punch just for this so it won't bend.
