Fireform barrel idea

Just talked to atf and they have no problem with the idea I came up with for personal use. If I patent it, then they say I need to come in with plans

Today out in my shop I found 3 barrels for 257 Bob Ackley. Also found some 209 shotgun primers Brainstorming....or brain farting, thought about cutting one short just above the chamber. Thread it to accept a device that would encapsulate a 209 shotgun primer......could the rifle primer ignite the shotgun primer?.....could a mostly sealed system create the pressure needed to form the case?......
After thinking about it for a while I woke up...lol
But would it work?

Most of us have a burned out barrel or two. Last time I had my 22-250 rebarreled I had the smith cut the old barrel back & rechamber it same as new barrel. Use old barrel to fireform cases. Use either grits or junk bullets. Save new barrel. Have also ff initially with grits and final formed shooting at p dogs. Easy, efficient and fun.
