Luckily egg prices have dropped back down or those would be expensive targets ;) Land features out here in Oregon can create some challenging wind reading obstacles. Right now we've been having anywhere from 9 mph to 17 mph wind gusts. Spring time conditions making sagerat hunting pretty challenging for me even at 600-800 yards ;) Nice shooting and instructing James, Happy Easter!

Its all in reading wind.
Its the most important subject I teach
More truer words could not have been spoken! We shoot all the time here in the wind and it is definitely the #1 factor to consider. It gets real interesting when you get 2 different wind directions. We're still learning how to compensate for it.

We've never tried eggs at 1,000yds, but over the decades, we have held numerous egg and golf ball shoots at 300yd and 300m. We have used clays at 1,000yds and large P-dog gongs. Some of us have taken live P-dogs at and beyond 1,000yds.

With our Western winds, I think we will stick to clays as our smallest 1,000yd targets.

However, good to watch the challenge. Thanks

I admit it's a challenge for me. But I came pretty close to some rats near 800 yards with my fixed 10X SWFA. James' video on the Athlon Cronus has me searching for better glass :)
