Case Length

When the brass seals the chamber properly, you shouldn't get fouling in the lug area.

All it should take to clean that area is perhaps a cotton shotgun swab of the appropriate size to blot out any excess solvents that might've leaked past your bore guide. Just don't scratch your chamber and/or throat with the twisted steel wire center.

Great advice, Richard. What size shotgun swab do you recommend for a .30-06?

Again, I'm not talking about scrubbing. ...just for wiping away any excess oils or light dirt.

22 will get the neck
357 or 410 will wipe down the chamber body and lug raceways
12/20 ga will clean the lug area

don't cram it in and scratch up the chamber, throat, or lands with the steel tip

compressed air is always helpful
