Can you guess what caused this failure?

How long does anyone think this post will go on until the real cause come out? I personally am not convinced that it was from copper build up from even several hundred shots without cleaning.
Someone mentioned this to me last week and I had to have it explained to me. When I was shown a clip from a movie I truly understood.

And the answer is---------

"FIRST RULE OF FIGHT CLUB"

So now we can all quit guessing!

They had to really p
They would have screwed up royally to temper barrel steel that bad. Now I do know of a pre-fit that the threads were undersized that blew off the end of the action on a 338 Lapua Savage action.
I cant hardly believe they didn't notice something in the machining difference also.
I think all Tikka barrels are hammer-forged. I imagine it's critical to stress relieve a hammer-forged barrel after they've been hammered down to finish diameter.

The stress relieving i did on barrels took about 24 hrs from start to finish, you brought the temp up slow to 1100 deg in a electronic controlled oven held at 1100 for certain amount of time and then cooled down slow. I messed around testing different Temps and even double stressed a barrels to test the process.
Also purged the oven with nitrogen

Witnessed this failure a couple of years ago. The shooter had minor bruises to his face and slight concussion, eye protection save his vision .
We verified no squib load or obvious barrel blockage.
Rifle was a 300WSM. Factory loads. He had fired 2 rounds, second round caused the failure. He was verifying his zero for a hunting trip.

Look closely at the barrel rifling. Zoom in on the barrel rifling. Notice the shiny color.
If you guessed copper, your right. Over pressure was due to copper build up.

Was amazed to see he wasn't seriously hurt.
This can be a danger hobby and we need to pay attention to all details concerning our safety.

Thanks for you input and concerns.
Not likely

I did is why I asked. No description other than it being a 7MM Super Magnum. Maybe Weatherby? Rum? Never heard one described as such. Just curious what it could be. This article just doesn't add up to real world experience by virtually everyone on LRH. The chart showing exceedance of max pressure after 30 rounds is a major product safety issue for every rifle manufacturer if it were true. There would be warnings up the wazoo to clean your rifle barrel to prevent catastrophic pressure build up not to mention the internet would be littered with examples like this. Heck there would be Lawyer advertisements on cable like Round Up!

If it doesn't "smell" right then probably not all info being disclosed.
7x61 Super most likey. Norma loads it.

What i noticed is front part of barrel is intact and were it is bent is were all the damage is to the action so to me there was an obstruction right at the bend and pressure went reward untill it went to path of least resistance. Notice how barrel peeled in strips with fluting.
The strips were definitely interesting!
