SAUM or WSM

SAUM offers a shorter case with about 7 grains less capacity.

WSM gives not much more in velocity, but burns more powder.

Having mag restriction of 2.830-ish for an AR project might lead to the saum as finding a maker (without extra clambering cost) to do the wsm? 150-175's will be the bullet range used. I have a 7-08 for the lighter stuff. Yes, it's an AR also. I'm not lookfor a wildcat/wildcatted cartridge either.

I feel the SAUM is the better option in an AR. I built several 25/6.5/7 WSM's on the 300WSM case several years ago, tried the 338/35 also, but gave up on all but the 25 and 6.5 versions. It's a good case as is, but there are far better designs that are faster…

Cheers.
