Everyone is asking "are you going to have a 6.5 max to shoot the new 156 Berger? "
Well, that does make pretty good sense, even though I'm already swamped. I got thinking about it and its closer than I first thought! I could just run the 6.5 ss reamer; n about . 080" deeper and use the 7 max gauge to set head space.
I have 7 max dies coming yet this month which could just be bushed down to 6.5 and they would work fine, or ss dies could also be used.
I have 7 Max brass in stock which would need to be neck turned only.
Shazzam! 3150'+ with a 26" barrel.
What do you think?

I will likely get one of these mag boxes and have it installed in my .260 AI, then have the chamber set back and throated long for the 156 Berger. Looking at the measurements, throated with the base of the bullet at the neck/shoulder would put me about 3.090" OAL or so. With 3.110" available, this box would be perfect for a long throat .260 AI. I think it would work decent with a 6.5 max, especially considering it is a hybrid, and even if you have to jump .050" it should still shoot good.

Here is a comparison of the three 6.5 Sherman Shortmags
