Is anyone doing this? I think it is something I would enjoy. 240gr SMK's at 3000fps a possibility?

I think it is DEFINITELY something I could enjoy as well! Are you thinking of the tomahawk? If I am not mistaken, I think 3000 is possible with a long barrel in for the tomahawk.
I was not sure if you saw this post recently. Jimden is having a reamer built for an improved 300. 300 Rumbo

I have a 300Tomahawk with a 33in barrel and shoot the 220gr MK's at 3,250FPS but could go faster. 3,000FPS with the 240gr is doable with a long barrel 30+in. I know someone was getting 3,100FPS with them but cant remember who. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've shot them at 3100+fps with a 30/338 Lapua Imp out of a 33" barrel using 105grs of WC872 and know of another guy pushing them over 3200fps with the same powder and a longer barrel with a 300 RUM Imp.
