Back in October after exchanging emails with Kirby we settled in on building a maxed out version of his Raptor LRSS to support his wildcat the 300 Raptor.

We settled in on a 34" 1:8.5 5R Bartlien barrel, his Raptor Action and an A5 super Mag stock with a 7-35 sitting on top!

Initial performance numbers weren't what we wanted topping out at 3260 with Bertram brass with the 245gr Berger! Underwhelming to us but still very impressive....Kirby did some exploring with Peterson brass and did this pay off big.

We had concerns being able to really stoke the fire under the Big Berger's if they'd even survive this Raptor's new found velocity potential!

Tested out to 1060 yards the final load finished up with the 245gr doing 3380FPS!!!

Nice looking rig. What bipod are you running. Looks good on that stock. I have one on order since December. Hope to see mine by september

Update-finally got to fire this rifle over the weekend for the first time!

it shattered the football size rock I've been chewing up for years at 600 with my 5.56, 6.5 and the occasional shot from my 300AX.

Recoil is about like a spoter weight 270 win but 3400fps MV it gets there so fast it slightly difficult to spot even at 600 without a spotter.

Holy smokes! Ran the numbers. That's over 6000 foot pounds out of a .30 cal. On par with a full house 378 weatherby. Someday I want something like this. Any plans to try the 250 a-tip? Using hex boron nitride at all? It seems like this would be a chambering to benefit from its erosion reducing properties.

Still carrying 3500ftlbs at 600 too! I'd like to run the 250's but we're (me and Kirby) aren't sure if they'd survive. We even had reservations about the Berger handling my goal velocity of 3300. No on the HBN for the time being
