300 PRC or 338 Lapua for bigger animals?

Trying to decide on my next hunting gun. This will be used for either larger buck deer, mule deer, elk, moose, grizzly. I was thinking of either the 338 Lapua with 250 grain bullets or the 300 PRC with 212-220 grain bullets.
Leaning towards a Savage Long Range Hunter. Both have 26" barrels. I just got back from a black bear hunt and used a 450 bushmaster with 240 HV bullets. I was disappointed I did not get a pass thru with that combo. Thats why I'm looking for something with more power. I have a 300 WBY, but it really can only handle bullets up to 190 grains for mag length. Thanks
Another cartridge to consider is the 30 Nosler. I find that to be an excellent cartridge.

The 260 hammers are amazing. I just got a 18" 338 lapua barrel for my desert tech. First load i tried shoots amazing. And am getting pretty awesome speed out of an 18" barrel. All the people that think you need a 30" barrel on a lapua havent had one haha. And the 260 kills very well.

I shoot 208 gr in my 300 Win Mag. Anything lighter is not up to par. I don't know about a 300 Weatherby, but I am sure it will do all you need to do. However, if I needed an excuse to get a new gun - and if you reload - I would look into the 338.

When talking about a carry gun (i.e., a pistol) the suggestion is to carry the largest caliber with which you can consistently hit. Having said that, remember that the animals you are shooting are the same ones killed 100years ago with calibers that still exist. Today we have more variety, better scopes and better accuracy. But if you can find your game within 200 yards, the 30/06, .270, 300 H&H (and it's big brother the .300 Wby Mag) and certainly the .375 H&H will all work today just as well as they did yesterday. Personally I carry a 338 LM, having sold off my .300 Wby Mag some time ago.

If you already have a 300 Wby I'd personally go 33, I'd go lapua over the prc even if I didn't have a 30. If I were going with a new 30 I'd do the Norma personally and skip the prc.
300 Norma +1. I have the PRC, WM and Norma is my favorite of the three. I seldom take my 338 now and feel that the Norma is good enough for what I need.
You can't go wrong with any of them for sure.

Good job with the DT! Nice load and group.
It is nice to be so compact, however I do like my 31" barrels for velocity and distance. I love the DT's ability to have a long barrel while keeping the OAL manageable. The 338 LM with 260 grain solids will get respectable velocity, I'm about to try some 265 grain Badlands in mine.

Thankyou. Yes i have a 26" 338 lapua and a 26" 338 lapua AI barrel both proof carbon for it to. Getting 2980 fps with the 338AI and a 285 eldm. I tried the 250 sbd2 in them all and they shot decent but the eldm and hammer were easier to get to shoot better. Id like to try a 31-36" lapua AI or 33xc barrel for a heavy ELR bench gun next

Of your two options, 300 PRC, especially if your main desire is to shoot heavier for caliber bullets. However, have you considered keeping your Weatherby and getting a 375 Ruger or H&H? Between the 300 Wby and 375, you'd really have everything covered.
