I know a .270 bullet can travel 1000 yds. I ploan to do so. I just bought a new Lee turret press and a set of pace setter dies. I need to know what grain bullet (make/model) and powder combo (make/model) should I be using. I don't even know the twist of the barrel of this gun. I am new to this. I have read a lot of what I have to do to shoot this far. I now need the proper load to do so.

I know that heavy loads are good to for knock down power, I know light loads go faster. There must be a sweet spot where weight vs chagre make the bullet go the farthest and the flattest at 1k yds.

I would like to hear from people that have shot a
    .270 round 1000 yds consistently

    I know .308 and 30.06 are a long range round, But I own a .270 .

Thanks in advance for your time. Tom gun)

I shoot the 140 grain Nosler Accubond. 56.4 grains of reloader 19 is my load. Good luck.

I suggest something with a high BC, Bergers or Sierra are cheaper than Accubond if you don't need the premium performance. Make sure your scope can make it to 1000 yards also.

I would try the Berger's .277cal. 150gr. VLD bullets with the ballistic coeficiency of .545. I have some loaded up for the 270wsm. Waiting for better weather to try them out.

I am using the super sniper scope. I have hit at 400 yds with 130 gr bullets. They guy that is saying 150 gr arent those for knock down power. I thought you want speed to stay flat and go far. The speeds on all the 150/160 gr stuff is much slower. I was hoping to hear from guys that have shot to 1000 meters/yds and have hand loaed their own ammo. I was tring to luck into a recipie. I guess I will have to try multi combos and see where I end up. Is there a program that will let you plug in variables such as Load (primer, powder, bullet) barrel length, B pressure, wind, temp, twist and figure projections of loads that one may want to hand load?
