anyone ever thought of necking a case down that far what could be expected with such a round?
I honestly don't know if a .257 caliber bullet would be able to handle that kind of pressure....
Mr Kirby Allen has the .257 Allen Magnum which is a .338 Ultra Mag based case. Very similar capacity as the Lapua. IMO something that would be much more interesting though would be a 6.5 or 7mm due to better LR bullet selection. Mr Allen also has a 7mm-338 Lapua Improved aka 7mm Allen Mag. Check out his site:
thats crazy i wonder what velocity that thing flies at. seems like kind of a novelty
