I tried some sierra .224 90 grain matchkngs in my 22 BR with a 8 twist douglas with excellent results. My load is 30.8 varget with moly 90 grain sierra at 2980 FPS at 6 ft from the muzzle in a 24 in tube. I didn't want to post anything until I shot them at long range to make sure they stablized. I shot them out to 600 tonight and they did great. I wasn't sure if they stablize in the 8 twist below 3200 fps or so, but i know they will at 3000 FPS. I just wanted to post so if you have a 8 twist and were thinking about trying them don't hesitate, it worth a try. Good Luck

That's good news- I am going to do 2 hot rods 22s just for the 90s- a 223 WSSM and a 22-243 Middlestead- Broughton 1-8 5C barrels of course......antelope here I come!!!!!

i have shot quite a few white tails at long range with.224 .The 80gr bullets worked great on deer out to about 400 yards in my old 22-250 ack. The heavy bullets in the .224 caliber kill deer better than ground hogs. You should be in good shape out to 600 yards or so with the 90's and the 22-243 and the 223 wssm. Let me know how the wssm works out, I hear nothing but bad, but wonder if a good barrel and a good smith could remedy the problem. Good Luck
