What Powder are you guys using in your 17 Remingtons for either the 25gr bullets or the 30gr bullets and do you guys see any differences in Primers?

IMR4320 was always the go to powder for the 17Rem. shooting 25gr. bullets, but since Hodgdon in all their wisdom dropped 4320, then IMR8208XBR is what I use with any 25gr. bullet.
My loads using a 30gr. bullet are done with H414/W760.
Rem. 7 1/2 primers were developed for the high pressures of the 17 Rem. and is the only primer I use.
Velocity I don't know. The Labradar we use will only track up to 3900 fps. It will not read any of my 17 Rem. loads.

Yes. 22.0 behind the 30 grainers and 23.0 behind the 25 grainers. You must be careful with the smaller cartridges and volumes like these because one-tenth of a grain can make a big difference.

Interesting. I just came across three pounds of IMR4320 in a heap of loading stuff I bought. Since it's not on the burn chart anymore I started looking around to find out more about it, and the consensus seemed to be that it was basically replaced by Varget.

I've used IMR 4895 for a long time. Berger and Hornady 25's. Groups usually .3 - .5". CCI 400 primers without problem but use BR4s now.

I use 20 gr V-Max with 24 gr of Benchmark fired by Remington 7 1/2. One of my "go to" dogs rifles. Haven't tried the rifle on any other critters, but I am sure it would stop a "yote" in it's tracks. It did preform very well with Varget, but getting those long extruded grains down that tiny throats was a PIA. Now it's ball powder.

Big foxes here and lots of them!
