17 hornet on NE coyotes

Coyotes up here run 40-55 pounds. I have the 17 Hornet and a couple of 17 FBs. Even the 17 FB is under gunned on them past a couple of hundred yards. They will kill them but not near as effective as the 204 with 39 grain bullets or 22-250 with 40 Vmax or 55 grain SPSX.
I thought about the 17 Hornet but a friend bought one and had to many runners when out coyote hunting so he sold his and I decided to stick to my 204 as my small gun. It sure does a number on them when using the 39gr Sierra. I tried the 35gr Berger but I think the Sierra's work a little better out of my CZ.
