Have taken 2 cape buffs plus several other african animals...1.5x4 leoupold scope, model 70 action reworked, 300 gr. roundnose woodleigh bullets...only way to go 100 yards or less, learn to shoot the gun...don't let the gun handle you
Anything above eagle creek and gypsum, co. Are good areas and produce some nice size bulls & mule deer...depending what season you go those areas get a lot of pressure atv trails are in good shape but can be restrictive at times due to use & weather...good luck
colorado by far...more blm & public land by far...unless you want to enter a draw for a specific zone to hunt in you can walk into any store and by a non resident tag over the counter at your local grocery store or any like store...231 & 31 not far from steamboat springs offers some great walk...
BRAND NEW TO THE 6.5 AND WANTING TO BENCH REST 90 % OF THE TIME PLEASE EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE FOR THE LAPUA 6.5 CREEDMOOR BETWEEN THE STANDARD & PALMA...THANKS IN ADVANCElightbulb
thanks for the response...the 6.5 seems more likley with the wider range of bullets...woodley is making a 160 gr that i could use for antelope and mule deer at a distance
trying to decide between the 2 for 90 % bench shooting yp to a 1,000 yds. ruger 77 mark ll 6.5 creedmoor 28 in heavy barrel 1 in 8 twist varmit /bench 10 lbs. or a savage 12 target 243 28 in barrel 1 in 8 twist 12 lbs with a weaver 36x40t 1/8 dot for my scope...thanks for the guidance gun)
Added a rail mount with 20 moa to a rem 308 vtr rifle, using a turret for 168 gr...does the point of impact change at sight in yardage due to the 20 moa base
thanks for the input...for the bench shooting i want to do i may not need such a higher magnification of the scope, and maybe something in the 4 to 5 power range may be a better way to go...gun)
Would like to put the weaver t 36 x 40 on a model 10 savage with 24 inch bull barrel in 6.5 creedmore...the weaver has 40 moa...any ideas or suggestions on what brand of rail with 20 moa to reach out to 800 -1000yds for this set up...thanks for the help
