I was talking to a friend and he said that the stevens 200 will not take the abuse from a round like the .338 edge or lapua. Is this correct? Was wondering b/c I might be building a rifle here soon and was looking at some actions.

We just starded shooting Bowling pins we bought 12 for 12 dollars and they seem to last forever and they don't break about so clean up is pretty easy. The biggest gun we have shot at one is .30-06 not to big but still holds up. Hope this helps PaulB.

I have a savage model 11 and I can shoot .75" @ 100yards with hand loads and it seems to be tempermental when it heats up after 2 rounds. It is stock and doesn't have any modifications. It has a nikon pro staff wich is really nice for the money. I plan on buying a heavy barrel for it some time...
