Load data for 26 nosler using ELD X bullets

IMO fouling comes from a combination of twist rate AND muzzle velocity. Years ago I had just started testing loads for my 6mm x 284 Winchester. 30 inch lilja barrel 1 in 8 twist using 107 gr sierra matchkings and reloader 22. the bullets came apart before they hit paper at 100 yards. found h1000...

    Fav powder for a 6-284 29" barrel

This week I'll try 51 and 52 gr rl 22 and see. I also picked up some Berger 105 " hunting bullets" last week and I'll give those a try. They aren't moly coated and my mk's are. I'll wait until I shoot the mk's and then the bore should be sufficiently coated. The lilja has been my second...

    Fav powder for a 6-284 29" barrel

you may not remember Kirby, but we had several email conversations around 2002. Before you started your smithshop. Dan Olsen did the work as I believe he helped you with one of your rifles, and you recommended him to me. THe first chamber he cut was throated really long and it was MY belief at...

    Fav powder for a 6-284 29" barrel

before my rechamber job(the smith throated my chamber too far) i used 56.5 gr rl 22 and while it was hot the bigger problem was the bullet coming apart. My primers I used were cci br2. I'll try reducing it(rl22) and see. The h1000 is producing super accuracy. I recently joined a shooting...

    Fav powder for a 6-284 29" barrel

So far the best accuracy I've got with 107 gr sierra mk is with H1000 55 gr but I'm only at 3150 fps from my 29 " lilja. Is there a better powder suited to my outfit? I've tried rl22 53 gr and it's too hot with 95% capacity

    Tri-city coyotes

It was the fx3 I believe. The one that was programmable and had 15 or so sounds and the 800 yard remote. We put it to use once or twice on magpies this year- worked great. There are yotes all over in our area.

    Tri-city coyotes

heck that's my town too. I live in ktown and work at the Kadlec hospital on the tower construction for Apollo. Years ago I had pretty good luck south of Badger canyon, but haven't called for a few years. Last winter Dad and I picked up a Foxpro and I'm dying to try it out.

    6.5 Grendel

Is this new cartridge worth looking at for a long range deer hunter. It's being marketed by Alexander Arms and fits into an AR-15 w/ some diddling w/ the clip lips. MV is only a scant 2600 fps os so LD bullets. I just can't see it being a long range weapon, but that's what their billing it ti be

    New to reloading

I will add my .02 The Dillon is probably the best progressive out there. What makes is the best is the customer service they give. I was reloading on someone elses press and broke a part because the unit was out of adjustment. I was pushed for time reloading for a prairie dog hunt and didn't...

    bullet comparator?

I've got a ? for the experienced vld hp loader. Is it critical for accuracy to have all your loaded rounds at the same oal or is it good enough to seat them usoing the same setting on my bullet seater. I'm loading 6mm 107gr SMK w/ a Redding competition micrometer seater and I'm getting oal...

correct torque on the action screws on a Rem SA ?

I've got a 6-284 on a Rem 700 SA ww/ the original HS Precision stock. Barrel is a straight 1.25 stainless 29+ inches and I skim bedded it and the 1st 2 inches ahead of the recoil lug beacuse the barrel is so heavy. What's the correct torque for the action screws. I did a search and couldn't...

    Some Scottish Pics...

good pics -they sorta look like mule deer w/ small elk antlers. What's that camo tube on your rifle barrel? The pic w/ the arrow showing where he was looks a lot furthre than 200 yards!

front rests models, price and opinions

Thanks guys, it seems like I've seen a Caldwell rest somewhere before, but can't remember where. It wasn't the br 1000 though. The specs says it weighs around 17 lbs. and has a windage feature.I'm sure its a little "rough" but then again my wife says I am too. Might be a good match. Ebay has a...
