Lapua 50 BMG Brass in early April '14

Wish they would resume production of 300 Win Mag brass. Can't figure out how they couldn't have made a good profit producing brass for this cartridge.

AccurateShooter is reporting that Lapua will be producing 50 BMG Match brass - to be available in the US in early April (2014). See Lapua 2014 News — .221 Fireball and .50 BMG Brass, 7mm Bullets « Daily Bulletin

And with Hornady recently announcing 50 BMG "match" brass....WOW!!!

Heard rumblings of this earlier in the year and have been excited to get some in hand. Curious what price will be and of course quality.

The strength of the case will really not be an advantage as any 50 BMG case that is quality will easily support anything the 50 BMG should be loaded to but it would be good to get some brass that did not need a lot of sorting or bench prep work to get a quality lot of brass for long range precision with the 50 BMG or its wildcats!!!

Time will tell. As with most Lapua brass, I am sure it will be top quality, very curious what price will end up at!!!

I really am amazed that Lapua is offering a 221 Fireball offering. That does not make a lot of sense to me but hey, there must be a reason.

I agree on that Kirby. I'd have to think there'd be more interest in 300 Ultra brass than 221 Fireball. 300 brass could be necked down to 7mm or up to 338. Maybe they should make 375 too :)

Has anyone necked down Shawn Carlocks new EDGE brass to 300 yet? It is suposed to be wonderfull stuff. I have 100 in hiding. Just need to use up the fifty pieces of 300 RUM brass....but the damm primer pockets just won't loosen up. :D I must not have a hot enough load.

There's relatively cheap and straightforward solution to that problem. More pressure, power, and speed too...

I'll tell you this, I run Lupua brass through both my 6.5X284 and 338 LM. I can't imagine anybody producing brass of finer quality than Lupua.gun)

Whats your velocity and bullet weight?

I am running 91 GR H1000 behind 300 gr bergers at 2845 in a 30" Brux tube.

My Rem Brass has held up to 5 firings. I have a few that are loose, but that happend during load development when I went looking for the "end". Found it at 94.0 gr H1000.

It shoots wonderfull now that I went up a bushing size in my die. It had always grouped well at 300 yards, but i had some vertical at distance. The bigger bushing solved that problem!!

I had planned to try RL33 once I switch to the Burtam 338 edge brass, but as good as it shoots with the H1000, I may pass on that idea.

I'm getting 50 FPS less with that exact load with my stock Savage 110 BA with decent groups
