Kimber 8400 270WSM ? Your Opinion

I saw a Kimber 8400 270WSM with a Zeiss 3x-9x Conquest for sale at $1100

I know nothing about this Rifle ,, Could someone give me some feed back.

Is It accurate, does it have a good trigger, action, barrel.....................??

I own that very same Kimber 8400 270WSM which also carries a Zeiss Conquest 3x9. $1100 is a really good buy IMO. I shoot groups smaller than 1/2 MOA and average 3/4 MOA with this rifle using AB 140 and RL19 powder. I'm currently working up loads using 150Grain VLD. Groups are shrinking down to 3/4 MOA so far. Match grade action and barrel. Good three point safety. Trigger is fully adjustable. Mine is at 2.5 lb with very little creep. They glass bed the action and do a great job inletting the stock IMO. I own the same rifle in .243 with a Vortex 4x16 and a .300 WM with a Leupold VX6 3x18. They all shoot tight groups considering their barrel sizes. Because Kimber is building a light weight rifle the barrel is quite thin and needs to cool more often between shots. When the barrels get tired I plan on changing them to a more suitable size but until then I'll enjoy them as they are.gun)

How long is the Barrel on the 270 WSM? What is the Twist Rate? What is the Length of Pull? The LOP would be the only deciding factor for me as Im 6' 5" and have a 14" to 13 7/8 LOP

24" barrel with 1-10 twist. Length of pull is average 13 1/2. They have a good web site for you to view

Just consider one thing, can you find a smith here that will give you a recommendation for using one as a base rifle? I ask this regardless of what your intentions with the rifle are as we all no each and everyone of us here likes to tinker with this or that and nothing is safe.

The Rifle was in Mint condition not a mark on the barrel stock or scope............I did not like the big Dual-X cross hairs...................but the rifle was well balanced and very light..................

As much as I liked it I still have my hopes on getting a Cooper Mdl 52 Excaliber .280 Ackley.
