Look's very interesting. I see the advantages. I'm not sure why they placed the sensors so close together. The set up of the unit would be much less sensitive if they had the sensors mounted 2 foot apart. And that would have made the unit more accurate in real life use.

I found the German made accoustic chronograph on ebay, and the info is in english. but u still have to go down range to set it up been there done that.
Much simpler setting them up than the standard optical chrony's. I was about to pull the trigger on a Magneto Speed but I like being able to accuracy shooting while chrono checking. think I'll be getting one of these, maybe 2 for a down range sensor for BC testing.

looks to be around 3900 US Dollars using currency converter

LOL...you've definitely misplaced a decimal point there. It's only £270 in British pounds which equates to approx $380 dollars.

The little magnetic type that fits to the end of the barrel looks interesting but it still only reads the velocity at the muzzle. I prefer a chronograph which can read velocities at any range. Thereby allowing me to check the consistency of my ballistic programs.

So if anyone purchases one, how about letting us know how they work. Consistency of readings, ease of use, reliability of readings, velocities reported compared to other chronographs. These will be much better for those that want to record distant bullet velocity because of the much larger receiving/trigger area, compared to light sensing chronographs that require the bullet be placed directly over the skyscreens.

I ordered mine Sat from this web site MagnetoSpeed take a look at Review & Test tab. I have used one of the better light chronographs and was not happy with all that you had to do to get consistent results. Looking forward to testing this unit and will post results. OBTW This form has been more informative then any I have been on.

Will do Paul. probably within a month or so.

Look what you guys did!! A magnetospeed followed me home and is begging to be taken to the field. Seemed like such a cool idea I couldn't help myself. gun)
